Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

JCDEE – Guidelines for Development of Journal Articles

1. Formatting & Templates

All submissions to the Journal of Curriculum Development, Evaluation, and Education (JCDEE), including research articles, manuscripts, review papers, and short communications, must be prepared using the journal’s official Word or LaTeX templates.

Template Access:

  • Downloadable .zip package (with sample files and instructions) is available on the journal website

Formatting Requirement:

  • Ensures uniform formatting across submissions and speeds up the review and publication process

Compliance:

  • Submissions not prepared using the official template may be returned to authors for correction before peer review

2. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure quality, fairness, and transparency.

Process Steps:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening: The Editor evaluates submissions for relevance, originality, and compliance with journal guidelines

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review: Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous; each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts

  3. Reviewer Evaluation: Reviewers assess manuscripts for intellectual merit, methodological rigor, clarity, contribution to the field, and ethical compliance

  4. Editorial Decision: Based on reviewer feedback, the Editor issues: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject

  5. Revision and Resubmission : Authors revise manuscripts as needed

  6. Final Approval : The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision

The journal adheres to COPE guidelines to ensure integrity and transparency throughout the review process

3. Competing Interests

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the research, its review, or publication process

Authors:

  • Examples include employment, consultancy, stocks, patents, grants, or honoraria related to the research

  • If no competing interests exist, authors must include:

“The authors declare that they have no competing interests.”

Reviewers and Editors:

  • Must declare any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves if necessary

4. Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

JCDEE follows the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing:

  • Originality: All submissions must represent original work and properly cite sources

  • Plagiarism : Manuscripts are checked for plagiarism

  • Authorship: Only individuals who meet authorship criteria should be listed

  • Corrections & Retractions : The journal will correct, retract, or issue expressions of concern when necessary

  • Confidentiality: Editors, reviewers, and authors must maintain confidentiality of submissions

  • Ethical Compliance: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical guidelines

  • Handling Misconduct: Allegations of research or publication misconduct will be investigated following COPE guidelines
